BackFREEDOM OF INFORMATION
Publication Scheme
All public authorities, including schools, are required under the Freedom of Information Act to adopt a publication scheme that has been approved by the Information Commissioner.
There is currently one approved model publication scheme, which has been produced by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Schools must adopt the ICO’s model scheme and make it publicly available.

OUR PUBLISHED GUIDE TO INFORMATION
Schools should publish a guide to information alongside the publication scheme.
The guide should specify:
- The documents available
- The format of the documents
- Any charges made for the information
How to make a Freedom of Information Request
You must make a Freedom of Information (FOI) request in writing. You can do it by:
- letter: Inspiration Trust, 28 Bethel Street, Norwich, NR2 1NR
- email: ea@inspirationtrust.org
If you cannot make your request in writing due to a disability, please contact us by telephone: 01603 280923
Before you make a request
You might not need to make a Freedom of Information request if the Trust has:
- already published the information
- previously responded to an FOI request
What to include
You should give:
- your name
- a contact postal or email address
- a detailed description of the information you want - for example, you might want all information held on a subject, or just a summary
You can ask for information in a particular format, such as:
- paper or electronic copies of information
- audio format
- large print
When you’ll get a response
The Trust will send you the information within 20 working days of receiving your request. Schools are allowed more time during school holidays.
The Trust will tell you when to expect the information if more time is required.
Costs
Most requests are free but you might be asked to pay a small amount for photocopies or postage. The Trust will tell you if you have to pay anything.
