System Leadership

At Inspiration Trust we aim to make a significant contribution to a self-improving school system. We believe multi-academy trusts have an important part to play in this.

Through our School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT), continuing professional development (CPD) programmes and our leadership development initiatives, we are developing the next generation of teachers and leaders in our own schools and throughout the school system.

We are also supporting improving school standards through the work of our CEO, the leading educationalist Gareth Stevens. We work as part of the Department for Education’s School Improvement Offer to bring about sustained improvements in schools.

The trust has also successfully led on two Strategic School Improvement Fund (SSIF). These SSIF projects focused on:

  • Improving outcomes for Pupil Premium pupils in Key Stage 4.
  • Improving reading outcomes through the implementation of a knowledge-rich curriculum in Key Stage 2.

The Strategic School Improvement Fund was a grant intended to further build a school-led system and aimed to target resources at the schools most in need. It also aimed to improve school performance and pupil attainment and to help schools use their resources more effectively. The learning gained from our two SSIF projects has led to long-term improvements in both our schools and in the wider group of schools who participated.
