Sophie Macdonald

Sophie Macdonald is the Primary Curriculum Lead for the Inspiration Trust. She is an experienced primary school teacher and expert leader of curriculum with over a decade of experience in schools in Gloucestershire and Norfolk. 

As part of her central education role, Sophie works closely with schools on staff development with a particular focus on English teaching and learning, subject leadership, as well as providing targeted support and challenge to pupils

Sophie joined the Trust whilst working on the SSIF project and led the development and resourcing for the Inspiration Trust Literature curriculum as the Trust Primary English Lead.  In her current role, she leads on the development of the trust wider primary curriculum, supports the SCITT programme and delivers CPD as a ECF visiting fellow and NPQLL expert as part of Inspiration Teaching School Hub. 

Sophie is passionate about teacher development and believes that supporting high-quality teaching is pivotal in improving pupil outcomes and can narrow the disadvantage gap.
