Charles Darwin Primary has opened a new foodbank to provide support to its families during the third national lockdown.

This would not have been possible without the generous support from local businesses. Yeomans Electrical Norwich has donated a Beko fridge, whilst Budgens is providing the school with £15 of food every week to stock the foodbank. Morrisons is also providing crates of food to support the initiative.

Jo Brown, Principal of Charles Darwin Primary Academy said:

“As a school right in the heart of Norwich, we passionately believe we have a role to play in supporting our families. These are difficult times for everyone, and for some of our families it has become even harder to make ends meet. We want to do our bit to help, and very much hope the foodbank can make life just a little bit easier.

“We are hugely grateful to Budgens, Morrisons and Yeomans Electrical Norwich for their support in helping support and stock the foodbank – their generosity is making a real difference.”

Mark Yeomans, from Yeomans Electrical Norwich said:

“When the Inspiration Trust got in touch we had to get involved in a donation. This is a tough challenging time and many families are really struggling - of course we wanted to help with the donation of a fridge to keep food fresh.”
