Another year of inspiring A-Level results
BackStudents across Inspiration Trust’s family of schools are celebrating as their hard work has been rewarded with impressive A-Level results.
A high number of grades at A* and A has secured places at prestigious universities for numerous students, with the trust as a whole scoring 80% of all grades at A*-C — a 4% increase on last year.
A professional football contract awaits one our students, from King Edward VII and another becomes the first student from Thomas Paine to have received A* A* A*, securing her a place to study medicine at Imperial College London.
Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form
Students once again cemented Sir Isaac Newton's place in the top ten performing sixth forms in the country, with 85% of grades at A*-C, including 66% at A*-B.
Chris Jennings, Principal at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form said:
“Congratulations to our students whose work has not only translated in results they can be personally proud of, but also serves to inspire younger pupils to explore the many opportunities the world of STEM can offer.”
Jane Austen College Sixth Form
Jane Austen College, recently rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and recipient of ‘Secondary School of the Year’ award in recognition of its exceptional classics curriculum, is celebrating 80% of A*-C grades.
Pupils, whose work was noted by Ofsted for its “exceptional levels of depth and complexity”, certainly lived up to the “high expectations” the inspection team remarked their teachers have of them.
Glen Allott, who took over the reins as principal this summer said:
A huge heartfelt congratulations to all of our sixth-formers! Jane Austen is an exceptional academy, due to the students and staff sharing a drive for success.
We know that for our students these fantastic results mark the start of very bright futures ahead, and we wish them all the very best for the next step in their academic journeys.”
Thomas Paine Sixth Form
At Thomas Paine, students achieved 70% of grades at A* to C.
Michael Fordham, Principal of Thetford Academy and its sixth form, Thomas Paine said:
“Students at Thetford have had another good year celebrating some excellent A-Level results.
We have seen a significant uptick, this year, in students successfully gaining places at Russell Group university as a consequence of our Gregson Scholars programme.
Almost all our students gained their first-choice university place, with students heading off to study everything from animation to neuroscience. We will them all the very best for the future.”
Erin, who studied maths, further maths, chemistry and physics, achieved excellent grades this morning, and is off to his first choice, Sheffield University, for Mechanical Engineering.
“I am beyond chuffed with my results, it's unbelievable to reach this point! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at both Thetford Academy and Thomas Paine.”
King Edward VII Academy Sixth Form
Students and staff alike are celebrating 65% of A-Levels at A*-C, a 12% uplift from last year. The Sport & Physical Activity course had a 100% pass rate, with one student, Richard, scoring a triple Distinction* and Paulius Falco signing a professional football contract
This year, the prestigious King’s Gold Medal Award will be going to Alex at an in-person ceremony with His Majesty. His award celebrates not only his academic success of A*A*A*A* but also his support for his peers.
Alistair White, Head of Sixth Form said:
“We are extremely proud of our Year 13 students. We all become incredibly invested in every student’s future and we understand first-hand how hard they have worked to get where they are today.
I am delighted for our Royal Gold Medal winner, Alex, who has achieved some truly outstanding results and fulfilled his ambition of studying computer science at University College London.
I am equally pleased that we have once again supported each one of our students in achieving their next step. We wish them all the very best for the future - we can’t wait to see what it holds for them!”
Head students Finlay and Lucy were excited to receive the results they needed to secure places at university and beyond.
Finlay said:
“I am over the moon with my results, they are more than I needed. I feel very appreciative of the teachers that helped towards these results, all went above and beyond.
Opportunities given to me at KES, including being head boy, have allowed me to grow at an important time of my life.”
Everyone at Inspiration Trust is extremely proud of what all its Year 13 students across all its sixth forms have achieved. Both teaching and professional services staff would like to congratulate each and every student and wish them the very best with whatever their future holds.
