For World Book Day, schools across Inspiration Trust got creative, and showcased their fantastic costumes with both staff and pupils dressing up as their favourite children's book characters, as well as some other exciting activities taking place during the day!

Cringleford Prep welcomed the MP for South Norfolk, Ben Goldsborough, to read a story for the Reception class pupils. The captive audience included Paddington, Charlie Bucket and Little Red Riding Hood to name a few.

Great Yarmouth Charter Academy celebrated World Book Day with a variety of different activities during the day, including designing book sleeves for their favourite stories that were later displayed in the library, reading Roald Dahl’s ‘Genesis and Catastrophe’ to provoke discussions around the subject of ‘what if’, and hosting an exciting cake competition where pupils designed and baked a literary-inspired creation for Charter’s esteemed judges.

East Point Academy and Hethersett Academy both ran successful book swap events, with staff and pupils coming together to bring in books to swap and get new titles to read. Over 200 books were swapped at Hethersett! Cromer Academy pupils received book tokens, so they could pick out a book they were interested in reading, with a wide variety of genres on offer.

Norwich Primary Academy and Cobholm Primary Academy pupils dressed up as lots of different characters to celebrate World Book Day, with Cobholm having their annual World Book Day catwalk to display all the wonderful costumes! Stradbroke Primary Academy pupils also came to school dressed up, but in their pyjamas; perfect attire to enjoy joint reading sessions, with each year group taking part in a different activity too throughout the day (and enjoying some of Matilda’s Gooey Chocolate Iced Cake at lunch!)
