For multi-academy trusts exploring consolidation, transfer or a deeper long-term partnership.
Trust-level integration must be more than a legal transaction. It should create a stronger educational organisation with one accountable Board, a coherent improvement architecture, sustainable finances and sufficient leadership capacity to serve every academy well.
We approach a trust partnership as mutual strengthening. Incoming leaders, specialist provision, regional infrastructure and strong practice should become part of the combined Trust's future—not be treated as problems to remove.
Our starting principles
- Pupil benefit and inclusion are the primary tests.
- Comparisons must be like-for-like, evidence-led and candid about strengths as well as need.
- Growth must be geographically coherent and must not dilute support for existing academies.
- The combined model must be affordable, with one-off integration costs identified and funded.
- Governance, leadership capacity and local accountability must be clear before transfer.
- Integration is staged, with stop/go decisions where material risks cannot be controlled.
